Craig Gould’s music combines honest, emotional storytelling with the timeless sounds of americana, folk, country and blues. His debut album, Songs from the Campfire, earned critical acclaim, drawing comparisons to icons like Cat Stevens, Leonard Cohen, and Fleetwood Mac.

Released to widespread praise, the record charted in the Top 20 of the UK’s Official Americana, Folk, and Indie Breakers charts. Named one of 2023’s Best Albums by respected blogs such as At The Barrier, Music News Monthly, and BluesBlues, it chronicles Gould’s journey through mental illness, with all proceeds donated to the mental health charity CALM.

Drawing comparisons to the likes of Cat Stevens, Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, Fleetwood Mac & Bruce Springsteen, his work is both soulful and authentic, reflecting a truly unique voice in the UK’s roots music scene.

His debut album Songs from the Campfire was released to widespread critical acclaim and became a breakthrough moment for Craig as an independent artist. Charting in the Top 20 of the UK’s Official Americana (#19), Folk (#16) and Indie Breakers (#20) album charts, it also reached #1 on the Amazon Music HNR Folk Chart and has surpassed 100,000 Spotify streams as of 2025. The album also featured in several “Best Albums of 2023” lists, including At The Barrier, Music News Monthly and BluesBlues.

A deeply personal and powerful body of work, Songs from the Campfire chronicles Gould’s own mental health journey and was released in partnership with the mental health charity CALM, with all profits from the record donated to support their work. The project was recorded across the UK and co-produced by Miles Myerscough-Harris at Whispering Bob’s Under the Apple Tree studios. The album also features standout collaborations with acclaimed musicians such as Anna Corcoran (Robert Vincent / AMA-UK Instrumentalist of the Year), Dan Sealey (Ocean Colour Scene), Blánid (Netflix’s The Witcher) and Chris Baldwin (Riding the Low).

The album’s singles were championed by BBC Radio and leading folk/americana outlets including Frank Hennessy (BBC Wales), Iain Anderson (BBC Scotland), Ralph McLean (BBC Ulster), Tim Walker (BBC Lincolnshire), Countryline Radio and Richard Leader's American Pie. Online, Craig was featured by Music & Tour News, the BCMA and digital distributor CD Baby, who all highlighted his work as “Release of the Week.”

Gould’s live performances reflect the same emotional honesty that drives his songwriting. With six self-managed UK headline tours to date, including numerous sell-out shows and HMV in-store sessions, he’s earned a reputation as a compelling performer. Festival appearances which include The Long Road, Y Not, Camper Calling, Bearded Theory, Timber, Solfest and Rock n Ribs, are complimented by a history of supporting major UK acts such as Levellers, Ocean Colour Scene, Dave Hemingway (The Beautiful South) and Brian Downey (Thin Lizzy); A further testament to Gould's ability of merging genre boundaries and delivering memorable performances to the audience before him.
